Underground It is only possible to visit an authentic cave with paintings over 20,000 years old in a very few places. In Cantabria, eight of the ten that make up the entire world heritage site can be visited "live and in person", to which the famous Altamira can be added, with its replica cave and National Museum of Prehistory. Tradition of sea and mountain To say that people eat well in Cantabria is nothing new. The quality of its fishing, livestock and agricultural products is famous. Based on tradition and firmly established in hundreds of restaurants, a group of young chefs are developing a "new cuisine" which is taking Cantabrian gastronomy to the next level. Six establishments which have been awarded Michelin Stars are at the forefront of this trend.
